The unofficial start of summer is just a few weeks away, and there’s nowhere better to spend your Memorial Day weekend than at The Homestead Resort & Spa in Hot Springs, Virginia. All weekend long, we’re hosting a full schedule of fun events and family activities to get you into the summer spirit!
New to The Homestead and opening this Memorial Day weekend, the Allegheny Springs water feature will include a 400-foot lazy river for leisurely floating, three 100-foot waterslides for some thrills and chills, and even a sandy beach that provides the perfect spot for catching some rays. Fed by waters from the Alleghenies themselves, this two-acre pool complex provides the perfect, family-friendly way to stay cool as we kick of the summer season.
The roster of events at The Homestead over Memorial Day weekend includes everything from horseback riding to wine tasting, flying fishing to hayrides, kayaking to golf. Grab your family for a gorge hike or a soak at the Jefferson Pools, or head to our on-site movie theater for popcorn and a family-friendly film. Older kids will love the teen tennis clinic, and little ones will enjoy the live magic show.
Along with all of the resort’s delectable dining options, The Homestead will pull out the grill on Sunday for an all-American cookout on the Casino Lawn. Live music will be performed by In Full all afternoon, and balloon artists and face painters will be on hand to entertain the kids. For the grand finale, we’ll cap off the day with a spectacular fireworks display after sunset, sending you into summer with a bang!
Over Memorial Day weekend, from May 25 through 27, we’ll also be hosting The Homestead Cup – a sporting clays event featuring competitions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Come out to watch the sharp shooters, or contact The Homestead Shooting Club to sign up and take aim yourself.
