Spring is well under way in Hot Springs, Virginia – and so are preparations for the annual Bath County Farmers Market. Beginning in June and running all summer long through September, the Farmers Market can be found in the Main Street downtown parking lot every Saturday morning and is a must-see during any summer vacation at The Homestead Resort & Spa!
Wander through the stalls at this producer-only market, and buy locally grown fruits and vegetables, artisanal foods, crafts, and other homemade products directly from the farmers and purveyors who produced them. With a focus on local sustainable agriculture, the market is proud to feature plenty of seasonal produce, from ripe, red strawberries and tomatoes earlier in the season to sweet corn and pumpkins as fall gets closer.
The Bath County Farmers Market is also a great place to pick up authentic souvenirs made by local artists – like herbal teas, delectable baked goods, and Virginia maple syrup and honey. You’ll also find a unique assortment of handcrafted gifts, from one-of-a-kind jewelry to handmade wooden birdhouses. There’s even a local artist who uses his woodworking talents to create handcrafted brooms!
The 2012 Bath County Farmers Market will be held at the downtown parking lot in Hot Springs every Saturday from June through September from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come out to support local agriculture and pick up a few goodies to stock your picnic basket. Then, head back to The Homestead for a nature hike, a long bicycle ride, or a relaxing day by the pool and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
